Reduce alcohol intake

Heavy alcohol consumption can trigger or exacerbate a flare episode, so it is better if you stay away from alcohol.

Drinking alcohol is not considered a good habit. However, the influence of drinking alcohol may be worse for people with psoriasis. Apart from triggering symptoms, aggravating inflammation and weakening your immune system – as it can increase the risk of a skin infection -, excessive alcohol consumption may negatively interfere with your response to psoriasis treatment, or even affect your adherence to your medication. Furthermore, alcohol consumption can even be dangerous when combined with some psoriasis drugs. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid drinking alcohol, and if you do it , keep it moderate, have 1 or 2 drinks per day.
