Beware of medications that might trigger a flare

It is known that some medications may aggravate psoriasis symptoms, therefore it is recommended that you double-check your medications with your doctor.

Certain medications can provoke flares. These include lithium (prescribed for bipolar disorder), interferons (used to treat hepatitis C), anti-malarial medication and beta-blockers (medications for high blood pressure). Since abruptly discontinuing a treatment may also worsen psoriasis symptoms, consult with your doctor about how to reduce a medication, as well as how to treat any other medical conditions is key in preventing outbreaks.
